Frequently asked
Why doesn't the app read my water temperature automatically?
The Apple Watch (including Ultra 2) does not expose water temperature to apps. Its temperature sensor measures wrist and body temperature, not external environment. A Bluetooth thermometer integration is on the roadmap; until then, water and air temperature are entered manually.
Why is my heart rate not showing during a session?
Live heart rate requires a paired Apple Watch worn during the session, with Apple Health permission granted in Settings → Apple Health. ChillSeeker queries Apple Health every few seconds for the latest reading.
The "Smart Suggestions" card doesn't seem to learn — why?
The suggestion engine is intentionally conservative. It only progresses (suggests colder or longer sessions) after three recent sessions in a row with a "great" or "good" feeling-after rating. And it backs off when your recovery signals (HRV, perceived difficulty, feeling-after) trend poorly. This is by design — for safety. Tap "Why?" on the card to see the reasoning behind each suggestion.
Can I edit my default temperatures and durations?
Yes — Settings → Defaults. Tap any of the four rows to open the editor. Temperatures accept any value; durations can be entered in seconds or minutes.
How do streaks work?
A streak is the consecutive count of days where you completed at least one session. One rest day per rolling 7-day window is allowed before a streak breaks; the rest day still counts toward streak length. Two missed days in a 7-day window resets the streak.
How do I export my data?
Settings → Data → Export as JSON or Export as CSV. The export includes all sessions and journal entries. Use "Share latest export" to send the file wherever you like (Files, Drive, Mail, etc.).
How do I delete everything?
Settings → Data → Delete all session data. This permanently removes every session, journal entry, goal, and reminder. Your profile and badges remain so the app stays configured. To remove everything including the app itself, uninstall ChillSeeker from your home screen.
I have a medical condition — can I use the app?
Talk to your doctor first. The app collects your stated contraindications during onboarding and stays conservative with its suggestions on that basis, but it is not a substitute for medical advice. See Privacy and Settings → Disclaimers & Safety in the app.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. ChillSeeker has no servers and no analytics. Everything lives on your device. See the full privacy policy.
I'm using a free Apple Developer account and the build fails on HealthKit.
HealthKit capability requires a paid Apple Developer Program membership. If you're building from source on a free account, you can temporarily disable the HealthKit capability in Xcode's Signing & Capabilities tab to get a build, with the trade-off that health data features won't function.
